3M Thinsulate
Thinsulate™ is the special thermal insulation membrane made exclusively by 3M. It is designed to resist compression and is moisture resistant and hypoallergenic. Maximum insulation with minimum thickness.
SympaTex
SympaTex® is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high-tech thermally welded membranes and has created MOISTURE-TECH®, the highest performance membrane: 100% waterproof, 100% recyclable, breathable and extremely wear-resistant.
AquaT
AquaT is a special waterproof and breathable membrane, which helps to keep the foot dry and at the same time leaves the microclimate inside the shoe unaltered. In this way, the well-being of the foot is always guaranteed.
XL Extralight
XL EXTRALIGHT® is a lightweight, closed-cell, durable, flexible and shock-absorbing material. It is made of EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate), one of the most suitable copolymers for shoe soles, and provides softness, flexibility and also great tear resistance for many hours of work.
Upper
Easyfit
Easyfit is the new insert designed and manufactured exclusively for models in the Exena Levity-X line. A breathable elastic sock that protects the foot from dust, dirt and debris while allowing the shoe to be slipped on and off like a moccasin.
Micro-tech
Micro-tech is the top-of-the-range microfibre used in many Exena products. It offers very high performance in terms of breathability, water repellency and durability.
Tex Pet
Tex Pet is the material that expresses Exena’s green soul. A fabric made entirely by Italian companies and composed of 100% recycled and recyclable PET. Excellent in water repellency and perfectly environmentally friendly.
Tecno Text
Tecno Text is the new generation technical fabric with very high resistance. One of the best semi-finished products for work footwear, combining protection, lightness and breathability.
TexFiber
TexFiber is the soft and economical upper material, machine washable at 40°.
MicroSafe
MicroSafe is the microfibre designed by Exena for the SafeWay range. Breathable, tear-resistant, excellent against everyday wear and tear.
Air-Tek
For an ultra-lightweight shoe, a tailor-made upper: Air-Tek is the new lightweight and fully breathable synthetic fibre used to enhance the lightness and breathability of the top-of-the-range Marathon line.
Lining
Bacteria wall
Bacteria Wall is the essential material used to make the linings for many items in the SafeWay range. It is a material with permanent antibacterial properties that allows disinfection of the footwear and maintenance of hygiene over time
Eco-mesh
Eco-Mesh is an example of Exena’s green transformation: a 100% recycled and recyclable PET lining that greatly improves one of the most important parts of the shoe.
Top-mesh
Top-Mesh represents the contemporary evolution of the traditional mesh lining. The improved weave allows excellent breathability and at the same time much greater resistance than in the past.
X-mesh
X-Mesh is the breathable and hard-wearing inner lining for Exena and SafeWay models, a must-have for the main models in the collection.
Plus
Stability control
Stability Control is Exena’s rigid TPU insert designed for intensive use and outdoor product lines. Its structural rigidity prevents joint sprains and sudden impacts, as well as protecting the ankle from sharp or sharp objects.
Dial Lacing Technology
Dial Lacing Technology (DLT) is the quick, secure and durable shoe lacing system. The rotor allows both perfect lacing adjustment and quick release in case of emergency. The polyurethane-coated steel wire guarantees maximum hygiene and cleanliness.
Stabilizer
Stabilizer is the rigid TPU reinforcement designed to protect the heel from sudden impacts and accidental blows, leaving the ankle stable and secure in any situation.
Toe cap
All toe caps used in Exena safety footwear are certified according to European standard EN ISO 20345:2011 or EN ISO 20345:2022 and subsequent amendment A1:2024. Resistance tests require that the toe cap does not deform excessively in the event of impact or compression. In both cases, the tests are conducted with a weight exerting a force of 1500 N.
T-Fiber
T-Fiber: a brand new tip for the new Raptor line. Made entirely of fibreglass, it stands out for its above-average hardness and resistance. Weighing just a few grams.
T-Air
T-Air is the lightest toe cap in the Exena range. It is perforated for maximum breathability and lightness. It is made of composite material, is non-magnetic and withstands shocks of up to 200 joules.
T-Alu
T-Alu is made of aluminium and is the tip for top-of-the-range lines such as Levity-X and Stardust. Ultralight and tested to withstand impacts of up to 200 joules.
T-Wide
T-Wide is the lightened toe cap with a wide fit, designed for the Professional line. It is certified resistant up to 200 joules and is comfortable even for the most demanding feet.
T-Lite
T-Lite is the lightened toe cap applied on the mid- to high-end product lines. It is made entirely of composite material and is non-magnetic. Shock resistant up to 200 joules.
Steel
Steel is an all-steel toe cap designed for entry-price and heavy-duty footwear lines. It is resistant to impacts of up to 200 joules of force.
Anti-Perforation Foil
The anti-perforation inserts in Exena footwear are made of steel, synthetic materials or pressed textile fibres. According to EN ISO 20345:2011 standards, the puncture resistance capacity is unique for all types of insert/sole combinations and is set at a minimum force of 1100 N. With the EN ISO 20345:2022 standard and subsequent A1:2024 amendment, two specific cases of puncture resistance have been distinguished, as specified below.
Safeflex Conductive
Safeflex Conductive is made especially for footwear with dissipative (ESD) treatment through the use of specially developed yarns. It retains the same properties and characteristics as the Safeflex anti-puncture insert.
Safeflex
Safeflex is the anti-puncture insert made of synthetic material and certified resistant to 1100 N penetrating force. It increases the flexibility of the shoe to facilitate rolling during walking.
Lamina Steel
Steel includes the anti-perforation foil made of steel. Withstanding up to 1100 N penetration force, it is applied in combination with the Steel toe cap in many entry price lines.
Safe-light
Safe-light is an innovative anti-perforation insert made of pressed cotton fabric. Applied to the lightest models in the range, it provides maximum protection against penetration but weighs 40 per cent less than conventional anti-perforation fabrics.
Outsole
EVA + Rubber
Ultra flexible and lightweight EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) sole with protective rubber tread.
2D Air-hole
2D Air-Hole is the special sole designed and manufactured exclusively by Exena for the top of the range, the Levity-X. Thanks to a brand new shape in two-density polyurethane with holes that horizontally pierce the upper layer, from side to side, this sole uses the most present and strongest element that exists, i.e. air, to cushion the walk and remain fully comfortable.
Spunterbo
Spunterbo is an insert built into the PU+Rubber sole that provides additional protection for the front of the shoe and the toecap underneath. An indispensable feature for those who work in a kneeling position.
PU+Rubber
PU+Rubber is a combination of materials that together give structure to a durable sole with excellent performance, even for dielectric footwear. It is made by combining a polyurethane top layer and a nitrile rubber bottom layer.
2D
2D is the evolution of the traditional single-density polyurethane sole. It is composed of two layers, both made of polyurethane: a lower (stiffer) high-density layer and a traditional upper (softer and more elastic) that together maximise the sole’s durability and perceived comfort.
1D
1D is the mono-density polyurethane sole, applied to many items in the Exena and SafeWay product ranges. It is certified slip resistant and durable.
Insole
Exena insoles are designed and manufactured to be compatible with the main technical features of the models in the catalogue. The materials used and the shapes chosen maximise the benefits of the technical specifications of each model in which they are applied, significantly increasing perceived comfort and breathability.
Rebound
The Rebound insole uses the properties of polyurethane to accommodate every foot with maximum comfort. The special anatomical shape and microporous compound are perfectly suited to Exena footwear in every line and material.
C-Dry
C-Dry is the preformed insole applied to articles in entry-level lines such as Work. It combines a polyurethane foam support with an open cell fabric layer, adaptable to all temperature and environmental conditions.
Air Dry
Air Dry is a variant of the C-Dry insole made especially for many models in the SafeWay range (including those in the High Tech line). Instead of fabric, canvas is used in combination with polyurethane foam to maintain the same benefits of fit and make them applicable to the Ho.Re.Ca. working environment.
X-Dry
Manufactured following the anatomical shape of the sole of the foot, the X-Dry insole distributes weight evenly over the entire body, improving venous reflow, increasing blood oxygenation and aiding workout
Energy
Energy is the most popular of the Exena insoles. It is an insole that is perfect in its structural simplicity: a simple layer of polyurethane foam with an air bubble insert in the heel that promotes the return of kinetic energy dissipated during walking.
X Control
X-Control is Exena’s latest innovation for insoles. Developed for the X-Road line, it combines traditional polyurethane foam with a superior quality open cell fabric. A fully anti-shock and perfectly anatomical product.
X Plant
X-Plant insoles offer long-lasting comfort, breathability and shock absorption. They guarantee healthy feet, thanks to the use of breathable materials and innovative, state-of-the-art production technologies.
Impulse
Impulse is the most widely used insole in the Exena range and is part of the Storm line. It consists of two layers, one in ultra-light polyurethane and one in breathable mesh, to help absorb perspiration and keep the foot dry.
Eco-Plant
Eco-Plant marks an important innovation for the eco-friendliness of Exena products. It is in fact a 100% recycled insole applied to eco-friendly items. It consists of open-cell foam made from recycled rubber and bio-oils and is covered with PET fabric made entirely from plastic bottles. Antistatic, breathable, absorbent and, most importantly, environmentally friendly.
Top Dry
Top Dry is applied to many work boot models in both the Thunder and Nitro lines. It is a multi-layered anatomical insole, which combines a felt base (with slip stop system and activated carbon support) with a breathable and absorbent fabric upper layer, for feet that are always dry.
