Making shoes, being design

Italy is the home of the “beautiful, good and well-made”. At Exena we are proudly Italian and we take special care in choosing the best aesthetic elements with which to construct a footwear. Not a simple shoe, but the material exaltation of our human spirit with which we listen to our customers’ requests, enhance the needs of end users and give free rein to creativity.

Design, for Exena, means modus operandi through which we apply the stylistic techniques of the fashion world to a high-tech product. The greatest challenge has always been to combine functionality and aesthetics without juxtaposing them uncritically, with the risk of falling into superfluousness, but on the contrary trying to merge them in a complementary way and to enhance them mutually.

But that’s not all: design is also everyday philosophy, which goes beyond mere doing. Design, for us at Exena, means being. Bringing style into work requires a major effort of identification, which cannot be improvised. We have been doing this for a long time and every day we move the horizon of experimentation a little further, to protect with style those who work.

Style over time

Time has significantly changed the working tools that our Style Office has used and uses on a daily basis. Moving from analogue to digital, through an infinite series of hybrid variants, the profound sense of aesthetic research has never changed. Indeed, the modern 3D renderings we use today are the contemporary transposition of the first sketches on paper. In both cases, we were innovators and pioneers of a new concept of work footwear, and we cherish what has now been formalised in writing as a long-term strategic objective: to put research and design on a type of product that was born to be standard and make it accessible to all, both in terms of cost and versatility of use.

Contract manufacturing

Exena produces and markets under its own brand name, but makes itself available to external customers for the production of customised items. This is a range of services that can be adapted to the specific needs of each customer. From simple contract manufacturing to a turnkey package, Exena offers all its expertise to respond to every request with the best solution.

We offer the basic service of manufacturing items on behalf of the customer, providing our production sites and capacity to get the batch of goods they require to the customer on time. Our production capacity is calibrated to minimise the lead time, from the time of the order request to its preparation in our warehouses for collection.

… to the complex

Not just production: Exena also provides accredited all-round consultancy, based on decades of industry experience, for the design and certification of safety and occupational footwear. We propose the best mix of features to apply to each footwear for every type of work environment, customising colours, shapes and materials.

After Sales

Quality Policy

Between 2022 and 2023, Exena obtained the important certifications ISO 9001:2015 certifying the Quality Management System, and ISO 14001:2015 for Corporate Social Responsibility. Both, in addition to increasing the company’s value and trustworthiness in the eyes of its stakeholders, have formalised a set of values that have always been well understood and applied: accessibility of information, transparency in communication, and rapid response to questions. In a nutshell: the customer is at the centre and is the reference for all our improvements.

After sales

We support our customers in all stages of the partnership, especially in the moments after purchase. Thanks to the cooperation with our contracted carriers, we provide shipment tracking, so that we know the location of the goods in transit at any time. In addition, in the event of problems (with the finished product, invoicing or any other type), the Customer Care service is active, thanks to which reports of discrepancies are processed in a very short time. Last but certainly not least, our web portal allows you to know real time stock availability for each size of all our articles in the range. And for all non-standardised information, our sales department employees are always ready and willing to provide any additional information.
