Electrostatic dissipation

The Safeway ESD line includes models certified in different protection classes (OB, SB and S1) that share the characteristic of being suitable for the dissipation of electrostatic discharges. This means that footwear with the yellow ‘ESD’ symbol is treated to prevent the socalled triboelectric effect, which occurs when materials with different electrostatic potential are rubbed together or separated.

Protecting people and object

The most significant negative consequences occur not so much for humans, but for the electronic devices being handled: a single small electrostatic discharge can irreparably damage a component or device, especially if it is small in size. The ESD line is able to prevent this type of electrostatic interaction, safeguarding the safety of both operators and machines that come into contact with it.

Modern industry

In many sectors of modern industry, avoiding electrostatic discharges is of fundamental importance: just think of sectors with explosion risks in the workplace (such as the chemical industry), where even a microscopic spark is enough to cause an explosion.
