The principle of innovation
Since its initial presentation and market launch, ACTIVE-X has been a real “classic” for Exena: an innovation so disruptive, significant, and successful that it has become a benchmark for subsequent projects. For the first time, the decision was made to give a very distinctive and iconic aesthetic to a line of safety and work footwear designed for the world of electronics and electrical engineering. This was the first step towards a renewed product design.
A new response
ACTIVE-X was Exena’s response to a world in which technical features and quality were the fundamental principles for the work shoe of the future. Today, in that future which has now become the present, end users still appreciate the lightness and design of the models in this line. The first requirement, namely to make work shoes lighter, was met with a reissue of the 2D sole in dual-density polyurethane. The two layers, recombined in a new iconic style, made the shoes significantly lighter than competitors’ models of the past while maintaining extraordinary slip resistance.
Contemporary technologies
The technologies introduced for ACTIVE-X are still today the pride of Exena’s know-how and have found wide application, not only in the new
models of the line but also in other subsequent lines. The DLT (Dial Lacing Technology) lacing system, the Micro-Tech upper, and Top-Mesh breathable lining are now the technological basis on which many models have been designed and built.
